What can OGG to Text do?

OGG is a container, often carrying Vorbis or Opus audio. Compatibility depends on the codec and browser, so confirm the recording plays before transcribing. Save the actual attachment from your messaging or recording app; renaming a different file to .ogg will not make it compatible. This tool reads speech, not message history or sender information.

OGG to Text: common questions

Useful answers before you begin.

Can I import a whole chat?

No. This page accepts one local OGG audio file at a time. It does not connect to messaging accounts or import conversations.

What if the browser cannot decode it?

Use the original app to export a supported MP3 or WAV, then open Audio to Text. A file extension change alone will not work.

Are sender names included?

Only spoken words are transcribed. Message metadata and speaker identities are not extracted.
