Create and check subtitles for a video

01Read the video’s audio track

Open Generate Subtitles and choose a local MP4 or WebM with speech. MP4 with AAC audio and WebM with Opus have been tested in desktop Chrome. The tool reads sound, not text shown on slides. The language option is the spoken language, not a translation target.

02Check the beginning, middle, and end

Play segments from different parts of the video. Correct words and adjust start/end seconds if captions appear early or late. End must follow start; generated captions cannot overlap or exceed the recording. Very noisy or musical passages need extra review. One clean test video does not prove exact timing on every recording.

03Export and verify in the destination

Download SRT for a compatible editor or player, or VTT for web video. The in-page preview uses the edited captions. Export does not burn text into the video, translate speech, or create a new voice track. Import the subtitle file and original video into your editor for those later steps.
