What can WAV to Text do?
WAV often stores uncompressed audio, so files can be much larger than MP3. After decoding, the tool converts the audio locally to the sample rate and mono input needed by Whisper. Stereo channels are combined; the result does not label separate speakers. This entry accepts WAV only.

Must I change the sample rate first?
Usually not. Once the browser decodes the file, the tool prepares 16 kHz mono audio locally. The original WAV stays unchanged.
Does stereo separate speakers?
No. Channels are combined for recognition. If each channel contains a different speaker, export those channels separately before using this tool.
Why does WAV reach the size limit quickly?
Uncompressed audio takes more space. Keep your original and use a shorter clip for transcription.
